Palazzo dei diamanti (The Palace of Diamonds)

Palazzo dei Diamanti launches its exhibiton for 1008 with an important anthology dedicated to Joan Miro ' – the first in our country after 25 years – that shows his amazing creative relationship between the earth and light.
The show, organized by Ferrara Arte and the Thyssen-Bornemisza meusuem of Madrid, documnts the most important works of the Catalonian artist, from his first piece of art of 1918, to his masterpieces of the 80s, and offers the opportunity to rediscover the role that the artist had in developing the important styles of the 90s, such as Surrealism and informal.
This edition is made up of 80 pieces of art with different techniques that the artist used – most of all paintings, but also drawings, collages, assemblings, sculputres, lithographs – amongst these paintings, there are some pieces of art that are being showed in Italy for the first time.

Ballons festival

Ferrara's Balloons Festival is one of the biggest hot air balloon festival in Europa, more than 40 teams of Italians and foreigners are here to show their multicoloured aerostats.

 
From the 19th to the 28th of September 2008, ten days of fun and magic in the skies of Ferrara and the Po Delta, leaving from the magnificent Bassani Urban Park, which is found on the medieval walls of the city. Free entrance to the festival!

Corriferrara Half marathon:

This event takes place in the middle of February (exactly feb. 21 2010) . It is an international foot race.
